FRC CHATROOM HELP/INSTRUCTIONS
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE CONTENTS OF THIS SHORT PAGE
IT WILL REALLY HELP YOU IF YOU ARE NEW TO IRC (Internet Relay Chat) - or REAL-TIME CHAT

Welcome to ForeSkinRestorationChat's chatroom! To enter the chatroom, simply enter your information in the chatroom window, and then click "connect". Be sure to use an originally spelled or original nick/username (eg. "john0101" is better than "john", or "john1")

NOTICE: There is another, more feature-rich way to chat on #restorechat. If you have some experience, you may want to use mIRC to chat. Send and receive files, private message others, separate windows..more. mIRC is free to evaluate. You can download it free by clicking here. If you are new to real-time chat, we highly suggest you simply use the FRC Website's interface to enter the chatroom (you can do so from the main page by clicking on the highlighted "ENTER CHATROOM" link.

When you run the quick install, and run the program for the first time, you'll have to enter your info, like your nickname, alternate nickname, etc. In a status window, type the following to change irc servers:
" /server irc.irchat.tv:6667 "

GENERAL INFO ABOUT THE FRC CHATROOM:

Chatroom Host: " FRC-host " If you see this nickname in the channel, feel free to request assistance, or ask questions regarding the ForeskinRestorationChat site.
Chatroom "Bot": " Security " If you see this nickname in the channel, it is not a real person - it's a software program designed to maintain, and secure the #restorechat channel for all users' protection. (NOTE that any nicknames on the channel in red are channel operators and may also be able to assist you with problems you may be encountering or restoration advice or questions and they tend to be really helpful, friendly guys to boot!)

CHATROOM RULES:
Common Sense. No flaming, insulting, or degrading…be nice. Bashing, rude comments, or intolerance of others feelings in the chatroom is not tolerated and will result in being banned!
Age request 18+ please...if you are younger than that and you enter the chat, please immediately announce to the channel your age. This service is to support men - and young men during their non-surgical foreskin restoration process, and to provide and exchange non-surigcal foreskin restoration personal accounts, stories, tips, general 'buddy chat' and to also help men who are NEW to foreskin restoration to quickly be able to get answers to questions they may have about foreskin restoration. All are welcome in this chatroom.

CHATROOM BASIC COMMANDS
When you log onto your chat session, select a nickname that is unique (ie. do not use “Jon” or “Mike”) as this chat system uses a program called “Nickserv” that allows people to freely register their chosen nicknames so that your identity is preserved so nobody can steal or use your nickname. When you are in the chatroom, you may change your nickname at anytime by typing the following without the quotation marks:

“/nick YOURNEWNICKNAME “

If Nickserv does not have a registered nickname that matches yours, it will leave you alone, otherwise it will force your nickname to change to “Guest12345”. You may register your nickname by typing the following exactly, without the quotes or <> marks where PASSWORD = your choice of a password - then one space and then type your EMAIL ADDRESS:

“ /msg register PASSWORD EMAILADDRESS “

After you register, every time you join the chatroom in the future, NickServ will message you and tell you to identify yourself.

Type “ /msg nickserv identify PASSWORD “

When NickServ bothers you!
When Nickserv sends you messages telling you that your nickname is registered, so "identify yourself" - and you are the person who registered the nickname, simply type:the above "identify" command. If Nickserv keeps changing your nickname back to something like "Guest1234" that means the nickanem you were trying to use is registered.
Choose a more uniqure variation to your nickname, or add a simple " - " (dash) after your nick, like " john- " this is most often the easiest way to get Nickserv to stop bothering you.

When the chat application loads up and you enter the charoom, look near the top of your chatroom screen for the button named "FLOAT" - press that and it will open the chatroom window into a stand-alone window, meaning you can resize the chatroom window to whatever size suits you.
